FORMWORK METHODS: THE CONNECTIVITY OF PRECAST CONCRETE AND 3D PRINTING
Location: Denver, Colorado
Date: Summer 2018
Scholarship:
Precast Concrete Institute
This research explores the practicality and connectivity of using 3D printing and reusable gelatin formwork in precast concrete applications. This approach has the potential to reduce skilled labor costs while also allowing for detailed and precise concrete forms. This method of precast concrete significantly reduces traditional formwork methods and construction time by pouring and curing pieces offsite in a controlled environment and stored until they are needed.
